Overview

This short course supports experienced professionals who are new to working in children’s care and/or children’s care in the UK. Facilitated by expert professionals from Great Ormond Street Hospital, this course will empower you to deliver evidence-based care for children and families.

Delivery

This course is delivered through a blend of asynchronous theory and in-person clinical skills.
Part 1 – Asynchronous sessions: You’ll complete a series of learning sessions independently and at your own convenience. These sessions will be delivered via GOLD LMS.
Part 2 – Clinical skills session: You’ll attend an in-person clinical skills session with other learners. You can book your preferred session via GOLD LMS.

This course is designed to benefit experienced professionals who are new to working in children’s care. This could include professionals with a background in adult healthcare, for example.
The course also benefits professionals who are new to children’s healthcare in the UK, by outlining evidence from UK-based practice, research and guidelines. This will support you to transition your skills and experience to the UK practice setting.
The course may of particular interest to learners undertaking university-accredited education in specialist paediatric subjects, who wish to strengthen their core knowledge of paediatric practice.
