Overview
Talking about cases from a medical or nursing perspective is common in healthcare, but a wealth of evidence indicates that to work sustainably, staff need protected time and space in which to make sense of the relational and emotional aspects of their work. This requires a group facilitator who is willing to step into uncertain terrain, cultivate a reflective state of mind in themselves and their colleagues, and appreciate the unavoidably emotive aspects of the work.
Course Aims:
- Understand the theory and practice of case-based discussion in healthcare
- Have considered the barriers and facilitators to setting up and maintaining a group in your area of work
- Learned core skills in delivering a case-based discussion group, including a basic structure and facilitator stance
- Practiced being a group facilitator with the other learners as participants in your group
Who is this Course For?
This course is aimed at any team members who have an interest in setting up reflective case-discussion groups.
