Safeguarding Children Workshop: Perplexing Presentation Fabricated and Induced Illness
This workshop will include looking at different terminology and definitions, alerting features of PP/FII, understand appropriate assessments and management, understanding RCPCH guidance, and there will be an opportunity for participants to reflect on cases and discuss the challenges in recognising and managing this form of maltreatment.
The workshop will be delivered by Dr Alison Steele and Mary-Louise Sears. Dr Steele is a Consultant General Paediatrician, specialising in safeguarding children. She has held several Named & Designate Doctor for Safeguarding Children posts, including at GOSH, Mary-Louise Sears is Named Professional for Safeguarding Children and has worked in the Complex Gastro MDT and more recently the Perplexing Presentation Support Service.
This workshop is delivered online, via Microsoft Teams.
