Overview
This two-day course is aimed at clinicians working with children with tracheostomies +/- ventilatory assistance in both the hospital and community setting. Lectures will include impact on communication, eating/drinking/swallowing and use of one-way (speaking) valves in children with tracheostomies.
Workshops will allow delegates to familiarise themselves with different tubes and problem-solve their application. Presenters will include members of the Speech and Language Therapy, Medical, Surgical and Nursing Teams.
