This one-and-a-half-day course is aimed at a variety of professionals, including inpatient Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Allied Health Professionals looking after patient’s undergoing a bone marrow transplant. This course is relevant to health care professionals working on bone marrow transplant units and in other areas such as Haematology and Oncology, PICU and the community – where they meet these patients at other stages of their transplant journey.  The course is aimed at nurses but is also extremely beneficial to a variety of allied health care professionals , such as health care assistances, new pharmacists, physios and so forth. The course aims to follow the patient’s journey through transplant, in relation to the 7 steps of transplant which have been set out by Blood Cancer UK. This includes; from preparing for transplant and finding a donor, to their inpatient journey including supportive care and conditioning. All the way through to their side effects, considering other options such as CAR-T through to post discharge care.
