Overview

This half day online course aims to enhance your skills, knowledge and confidence to effectively and successfully manage learners in clinical practice. It is for any qualified allied health professional who works alongside students, and wishes to progress their skills in supporting and developing learners. All levels of experience with supervision are welcomed. The theory and practice of effective supervision will be integrated into activities with practical application for your role as a supervisor. You will be encouraged to draw on and share your own experiences throughout this interactive programme.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  1. Critically evaluate the theoretical, and regulatory frameworks that underpin supervision practices in health care settings, demonstrating an ability to apply this to the role and approaches of supervising students.
  2. Analysis of learners differing needs and how this can impact them in practice. Understanding the role supervisors have to create inclusionary environments for them to thrive.
  3. Appraise common tools and methods for teaching and assessing learners in clinical settings, learning from peers experience to develop practice.
  4. Embed different methods of delivering effective feedback, applying this to individualised case based scenarios.
